Week to Wicked and American Legend

Taking a stock long bed truck and turning it into a canyon carving short bed over a period of seven days might sound like a feat most would rather not try to accomplish. But that’s exactly what Classic Trucks aims to do with their Week to Wicked 1970 C20 pickup project. Presented by Classic Performance Products, this seven day thrash will begin October 3rd when the laggard long bed pulls into the Classic Trucks Tech Center for the makeover of the century.

Week to Wicked – 1970 Chevy C10 – Day 1

Day one of the Week to Wicked presented by CPP C10 kicked off with the Classic Trucks/Tech Center crew (along with folks from Brothers and CPP) transforming the long bed into shorty with help from Brothers Trucks and their new 1963-1972 frame conversion kit, which includes everything necessary to complete the job (minus the tools and labor, of course!)

Week to Wicked – 1970 Chevy C10 – Day 4

Day 4 carried on with the Week to Wicked C10 presented by CPP getting not only the Painless Performance chassis wiring finished up, but the drivetrain management system as well. The crew from CPP were kind enough to lend a hand with the Painless chores before they moved on to plumbing of their HydraStop power brake assist unit and eventually bleeding the brakes.

Week to Wicked – 1970 Chevy C10 – Day 5

Amazing how quickly a week can come and go. But what’s even more amazing is how quickly an average, albeit very nice, 1970 C20 farm truck can be transformed into a modern performance C10 short-bed!
And that’s precisely what transformed last week: Monday morning at 8am sharp, the long-bed was driven into TEN’s Tech Center, and by 11pm Friday night, it was leaving layers of burnt rubber in the parking lot outside. In the course of five full days, the truck was taken from a long-wheelbase 3/4-ton hay hauler—the frame shortening portion with Brothers Trucks taking just a few hours—to shorty hauler of the more potent kind…one that hauls you by the seat of your pants thanks to its Mast Motorsports 700+hp LS7, Performance Automatic 4L80E four-speed overdrive, and full CPP performance suspension, brake, and steering package.
